Frequently Asked Questions

What are the antibodies available through Immunological Toolbox?

The Immunological Toolbox hosts a range of antibodies for use in veterinary research, some of which are licensed and available through commercial partners. Unlicensed antibodies can be accessed upon request. In addition, we hold recombinant sequences for several monoclonals from various collaborators. These recombinant antibodies may also be accessible through the Toolbox for research purposes only, with permission from the original owner.

How can I request reagent and other services?

The website also provides a gateway to the services offered by The Roslin and Pirbright toolbox. You would need to fill in the webform to request the service, which is then reviewed and by our team and once approved will be responded with further details including costings, timelines and T&Cs to be agreed for proceeding with the project.

What is the shipment procedure/How do you ship antibodies?

Requestees are responsible for arranging and paying for package collection or shipment from The Pirbright Institute using their preferred courier. They must also provide country‑specific import requirements and documentation so we can prepare the shipment accordingly.

How do you ship antibodies?

We recommend dry ice shipping and prepare the package as below
The parcel will be made up of the purified antibody protein in a microtube not more than 1ml in each tube packed in a small thermal control unit 35xcm (W) x 35cm (H) x 35cm (D), containing dry ice, up to 8kg in total weight.

How can I contribute to the website?

The website is solely a community driven initiative to share information and development on new and existing reagents not limited to Toolbox’s antibodies. All the registered users can share any new data (attach files), add comments and rate functionality of antibodies in corresponding assays on the antibody page.
